John is married to Jacky, a clothing designer, and they have two children.

Training in the studio of David Sharkey in the late 1970's his time is divided between commercial work and informal portraiture.

He currently uses Canon 5d slr cameras with a 24-105mm and a 70-200mm L series lenses.
